2015 University Of Essex Almanea Scholarship for science

University of Essex is inviting applications for masters scholarship for full-time taught Masters study in Faculty of Science and Health commencing in October 2014. The scholarship covers tuition fees (overseas) and also provides an allowance towards living costs. In 2014-15, the allowance will be worth £10,000. The fee element will be deducted automatically and the allowance will be paid in two installments. The scholarship cannot be deferred to a later year or a different course from the one for which they are admitted. The application deadline is 31st August 2014.

The scholarship will be awarded as a full fee waiver for the period of study, plus an allowance of £10,000 towards living costs. One scholarship will be offered in 2014-15.

  • eligible to pay tuition fees at the rate for overseas students,
  • entirely self-funding your studies, and
  • in receipt of an official offer of admission (conditional or unconditional) from the Graduate Admissions Office for full-time taught Masters study in our Faculty of Science and Health commencing in October 2014

Selection Criteria: The Almanea Scholarship for science will go to a talented postgraduate student with an excellent academic background, who can demonstrate financial need. The final decision is made by a panel of academic and administrative staff of our University based on the following criteria:
-academic ability – based on previous academic qualifications, normally a first class Bachelor’s degree or high 2.1 or equivalent
-financial need and evidence of a global outlook – based on the statements provided on the scholarship application form.

Notification: The recipient of the scholarship for 2014-15 will be announced by mid-September 2014.
