2015 Distance Learning Scholarships – information for UK universities

The Commonwealth Scholarship Commission in the United Kingdom is currently inviting all UK higher education institutions to submit an Expression of Interest in receiving Commonwealth Distance Learning Scholarships for any distance learning courses offered either directly or in partnership with an overseas institution.

Commonwealth Distance Learning Scholarships cover overseas tuition fees at Master’s degree level and are open to candidates who are citizens of a developing Commonwealth country.

All Expressions of Interest should be completed with reference to the prospectus.

How to apply

Expressions of Interest may be submitted by UK universities only. The CSC expects all Expressions of Interest to be submitted with the approval of the university and they should therefore be submitted by an appointed member of staff.

Expressions of Interest must be submitted via our Electronic Application System (EAS).

The deadline for Expressions of Interest for 2015 Commonwealth Distance Learning Scholarships is 23.59 (BST) on 28 September 2014.

The selection committee will consider all eligible Expressions of Interest at a meeting in October 2014. Successful course providers will then be invited to submit a formal proposal for support. These formal proposals will be considered by the selection committee in January/February 2015. The committee will also decide on the number of scholarships to be allocated to each course. Successful providers will be required to conduct their own recruitment process to shortlist a specified number of nominated candidates for Distance Learning Scholarships. A selection committee will then select Scholars from this shortlist in July 2015 for September/October 2015 take up.
